Cookies and storage
4 September 2026
Demo notice. This is a portfolio demonstration. The company, products, prices and certifications below are fictional, and no real transactions take place. This text is a structural placeholder and is not legal advice.
This site sets no advertising cookies and runs no analytics scripts. It stores three things, and you control the third.
01
What is stored
All three live in your browser’s local storage rather than in cookies, which means they are never attached to a request and never travel to a server on their own.
- meridian.cart.v1 — the identifier and quantity of each item in your cart. No name, no price, no personal data. Strictly necessary: without it, reloading the page would empty your cart.
- meridian.locale.v1 — which of the four languages you chose. Strictly necessary: without it the site cannot return you to the language you picked.
- meridian.consent.v1 — your answer to the banner, and when you gave it. Necessary so we do not ask again on every page.
02
The one optional thing
If you allow it, the site records which language you chose and roughly which country you connected from. Nothing else.
The country comes from the network layer — the same way any web server can see roughly where a request originated — and is stored as a two-letter code. It is never a precise location, never GPS, and never joined to an order or an email address.
It exists for one reason: to know which of the four languages are actually worth maintaining. If you decline, none of it is recorded and everything else on the site works identically.
03
Third parties
Google Maps is embedded on the location section, and only after you have allowed both categories. Choosing “necessary only” leaves a drawn map in its place and nothing is requested from Google at all. When it does load, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies, governed by Google’s privacy policy.
There is no analytics provider, no advertising network, and no font loaded from another company’s server. The fonts are served from this site’s own domain.
Stripe sets its own strictly necessary cookies on the checkout page, which is on Stripe’s domain rather than this one, for processing the payment and preventing fraud. Those are governed by Stripe’s privacy policy.
04
Changing your mind
Use the control on this page at any time. Withdrawing consent stops any further recording immediately.
Clearing your browser’s site data removes all three items, including your language choice — the site will simply ask again.
